The West-Oak Symphonic Band is a curricular group of 9th-12th grade students. This class focuses on the study and performance of various styles of instrumental music through a variety of performing media, critical listening, and analysis. There is a strong emphasis on the development of individual musicianship. They perform at all seasonal concerts.

The award-winning West-Oak High School Warrior Band is a co-curricular performance ensemble that performs at football games, local parades, and competitions throughout the state of South Carolina. The Warrior Band is a consistent SCBDA state finalist in class 2A. Their 2022 production, entitled "100 Seconds to Midnight" earned 4th place at Upper State Championships and 9th place at State Championships.
The West-Oak Jazz Band is an early-bird class that meets before school 3 days per week. Students study the styles and artistry of this genre that echoes the social, political, and economic changes that shaped our country during the 20th century and beyond.
